In the year 2018, Mrs.Roy was diagnosed with pleomorphic adenoma, a form of tumor which started in the salivary gland and had to cut out from the body. The tumor form had turn malignant which is the first stage of cancer. She had no medication option and surgery was the only thing she had to go through, Mrs.Roy took the big decision and went through macro open surgery. In 2018, Tanisha underwent surgery for Pleomorphic Adenoma, a salivary gland tumour, because there were no medication options to remove it. “The surgery was a macro-surgery. I was cut open from the lobe of my left ear and down my neck; if the surgery had gone wrong, I would have been paralysed with my facial nerves twisted. The results were shocking. I was diagnosed with cancer in one of the strains in the biopsy results. My tumour has turned malignant. I was still thankful that I had been diagnosed in the early stages, which are quite rare in this disease. I took appropriate treatments to arrest the growth,” she shares. What do you think a person would do after battling cancer? Face challenges head on! That’s exactly what Bangalore-based model Tanisha Roy did, and took it up a notch higher. Recently, she has been shortlisted as one of the top 172 participants from over 40,000 applicants across 25 countries for the Haut Monde Mrs India Worldwide beauty pageant 2019. The pageant will be held in Greece in October this year.  In 2018 Roy, who then held a position in the corporate sector, was diagnosed with a malignant tumour in the first stage of cancer. It was the time when she took a break from her job, and started modelling and doing shoots while getting treatment.  When she was told that the only way to take a chance at saving her life was a macro open surgery, she took the chance.
